Interventions for Parents
Are you concerned about your child’s behaviour? Worried that they might get into trouble or that they’re in with the wrong crowd? Do they behave in ways that make you think you’re helpless or no good, that they are getting out of control?
Maybe you have disagreements with other adults in their life about how to handle things, or you’ve found yourself doing things that are out of character or are against your values as a parent? Maybe you’re finding it hard to put boundaries in place for some reason, and withdrawing or becoming more irritable than you would like?
Or maybe you're a new parent and you want to enhance your relationship with your baby. It can be such a challenging time; sometimes it can feel like there is a mismatch between how you feel and how you thought you would feel. We can do something about that.
Non-violent resistance (NVR)
Using a psychological approach informed by Non-Violent Resistance (NVR), I can help you to adjust the way you engage your child or children. You can learn ways to be more present in your relationship with your child in a way that is likely to bring about positive change.

Video Interaction Guidance (VIG)
I can also work with you using video interaction guidance (VIG) to highlight the ways in which you are interacting well with your baby, child or children, so that you can develop these positive ways further and improve your relationship. This is a technique that is recommended in the NICE guidance for children, including babies and young children, and is highly effective for improving the connection or attunement between parents and children.

Parental alienation and contact disputes
If you are reading this because you are concerned about parental alienation, please contact me for more information about how best to proceed. We might well need the support of your legal representative and possibly the court in order to complete an effective intervention. It is best that I discuss this process with you before you send me any detailed information or suggest my input in court.
Please contact me if you would like to any of these possibilities further.
